Timer presets

Keep a WClock tab open and your device awake for alerts. Timers use a saved end time, so reloads and delayed browser ticks don’t change the countdown.

Run a countdown timer for any task

A countdown timer measures a duration rather than waiting for a date on the calendar. Set a short tea timer, allow ten minutes for a presentation, or run several named timers for separate tasks without mixing them up.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter hours, minutes, and seconds, or choose a minute preset. Add a timer name.
  2. Choose whether to stop at zero, restart automatically, or continue as a stopwatch. Select and test the alert sound.
  3. Start the timer. Use its saved row to pause, resume, reset, or delete it; start another timer when you need a separate countdown.

A practical example

Set a 3-minute tea timer and a separate 15-minute reading timer. Give each a name so the completion alert tells you which duration has finished.

Common questions

Does reloading restart a running timer?

A running timer stores its end time in this browser. Reloading recalculates the remaining duration from that end time. Clearing site data removes saved timers, and keeping the tab open is necessary for timely alerts.

Can the timer repeat or show overtime?

Yes. Choose Restart automatically for repeated intervals or Continue as stopwatch to count upward after zero. These options apply when you create the timer.
